Attend the Brand New HSE Day on September 10
This year, for the first time in its history, one of HSE’s biggest events will be held online. Expertise and a casual atmosphere, science and games, music and sports – everything we love about it will remain, but thanks to the endless possibilities of the virtual reality, anyone from any part of the world can join the festivities of the Brand New HSE Day.
HSE’s online ‘campus’ will offer four stages for guests:
‘HSE PRO Future’ – the main stage
‘Meet HSE University’ for prospective students, first years, and their parents
HSE International for international students and applicants
Studlife for everyone interested in HSE extracurricular life
‘HSE PRO Future’
The Higher School of Economics is all about the future. Having approved the 2030 Development Programme in 2020, HSE University clearly sees its prospects for the next 10 years, and can make long-term forecasts in different areas. How will Moscow change and how will students get to university buildings in 2030? Will we encounter global warming and who will become the Russian football champion in ten years? What movies will we watch and what gadgets will we use? What new professions will appear in the next decade and how will the student of 2030 differ from the student who joined HSE this year? We will discuss these issues and more with event guests.
At the same time, it is also interesting to look into the less distant future: on the main event stage you will learn what awaits HSE first-year students tomorrow, and what awaits prospective students next year. HSE Vice Rectors will tell guests about the HSE Lyceum, student life and volunteering, international mobility, and blurring boundaries in education.
‘Meet HSE University’
On this stage, guests will learn about academics and research at HSE and the application process. In addition, applicants will be offered virtual tours around HSE buildings, video presentations of faculties and meetings with speakers who will discuss recent projects undertaken to involve students in research activity, online training, and career development opportunities.
‘HSE International’
International applicants will get acquainted with HSE’s programme offerings, learn about HSE’s preparatory programmes for international students, as well as bachelor's and master's programme admissions. And those who have already enrolled on HSE programmes will learn more about academic mobility, the Summer University, and the diversity of HSE's academic and extracurricular life.
‘Studlife’
At the stage dedicated to HSE extracurricular activities, guests will see what HSE students do in their free time and how to become member of HSE creative family. Every year, the Studlife stage becomes the central part of HSE Day: guests will enjoy performances by the HSE Theater and HSE Orchestra and participate in quizzes, quests, chess tournaments, and sports master classes.
HSE Day has always been a place where you can meet new and old friends. This year’s remote HSE Day will be no exception. Our online event will give everyone the opportunity to take an active part in a variety of activities. More details to follow!
As is customary, the university event will conclude with a concert by a popular band or performer. The name of the headliner will be revealed soon.
