Open Optional Courses: What HSE University Offers its Students, Staff and Visitors

Which Open Optional Courses HSE University Offers
In 2019/20, HSE University is planning to offer 56 open optional courses. 28 of them start in autumn and are open for registration from September 5.
11 new courses are taught in Russian. As usual, several courses are taught in English. The full list of open optional courses and their syllabi are available here (in Russian).
Last year’s most popular open optional courses were:
Criminal Law Risks for Entrepreneurs and Top Business Executives;
History of Western European Music: from Bach to Schoenberg. Experience of Philosophical Analysis and Associative Perception;
Psychology of Management and Decision-Making;
Fashion, Costume, Personality: Humans and their Clothing in Public Space;
GR in Contemporary Russia: Theory and Practice.
Who Can Enrol
The courses are open to everyone regardless of age and education level. Admission is free for all students, including those who are not from HSE University.
Enrolment in courses that start in the first semester will open on September 5, at 2 PM, and will last through September 15. Please note that the number of slots in each course is limited.
If you are an HSE University student, you can register for the courses in the LMS system. If you forgot your login and password, please contact your programme’s study office or LMS support (lms@hse.ru).

Registration Opens for Optional Courses Starting in Second Half of 2016/17 Academic Year
From December 1 to 20, registration will be held for HSE’s Open Optional Courses, slated to start in the second half of the 2016/2017 academic year. Per tradition, these courses will be free of charge and open not only to HSE students, but also anybody interested in expanding their knowledge.
