Master’s Students of HSE Faculty of Law Among Top 10 Teams at The ELSA Moot Court Competition in WTO Law
A team made up of master’s students from the 'Law in International Trade, Finance and Economic Integration' programme including Victoria Levchenko, Konstantin Pashuto, Lilia Baymuratova and Eduard Nuriev and led by Darya Boklan (Professor at the Department of International Public and Private Law) and Olga Starshinova (expert of the Department for Trade Negotiations of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia) has made it into the top ten teams at the international round of the ELSA Moot Court Competition in WTO Law, held in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 19th-24th, 2018.
The ELSA WTO Moot Court Competition of Law is the most prestigious large international competition on WTO law. Universities from more than 100 countries take part in the event. The competition is a simulated hearing in the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement system. Participants of the competition develop their skills of delivering speeches and legal reasoning in English, as well as the opportunity to be evaluated by highly qualified specialists in WTO law from around the world.
It’s the first time the HSE Faculty of Law team has participated in this international competition with the support of the HSE Endowment Fund.
