Over the course of a week, top-level officials from the country learned governance practices in the fields of science, technology and innovation in a special class held by the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK).

In the Moscow Region, the ninth Russian Summer School on Institutional Analysis (RSSIA) was held recently, bringing together 26 young researchers from Italy, Montenegro, the Philippines, Macedonia, Great Britain, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia. During the programme, they addressed problems concerning the economics of education, financial institutions, the public sector, and the theory of industrial markets.

The finals of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises’ Moscow Youth Start 2015 Bright Spark contest were held over July 24-25. Fifth year student at the HSE Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics Maria Pavlova (Applied Mathematics major) was one of the winners, with her project to ‘develop an automated device to diagnose heart disease’.
Indonesian Public Officer Graduates from HSE
Political Analysis and Public Policy is the most popular Master’s programme among HSE’s international students. It draws people with professional experience as well as those fresh from Bachelor’s degrees to do research. Indra Prasetya Adi Nugroho is one of the 2015 new Master’s graduates. He came to HSE from a job in the Indonesian government.
Second Season of HSE Summer University Opens
On June 20, HSE Summer University classes began. In comparison with last year, the university has seen an increase both in the number of participants and in the diversity of courses offered.
MIEM Students Initiate a Teaching Project Laboratory
A group of 5th year MIEM students have suggested to the institute’s management to create a project teaching laboratory on robotics and mechatronics. Each student has already made samples of instruments which could be polished and launched into production. The management have given the idea their support.
