The Moscow metro has launched a big educational project ‘Hello, Moscow!’ (Priviet, Moskva!). This will turn the Moscow transport system into a ‘guide’, telling the passengers about the city in various contexts, and making the everyday commute a more useful and interesting journey. The project creators include HSE staff and alumna.

The new ranking of entrepreneurial universities published for the first time by the ‘Expert’ analytical centre features 38 Russian universities, 16 of which are participants in the Project 5-100. HSE took 6th place among Russian universities and 2nd place (after MIPT) among participants in the Project 5-100.

As Russia’s digital economy gains momentum, participants of the sporadic market of digital services need to pave a path for success using their experience, professional instincts, and basic knowledge. Igor Artamonov, a graduate of the MBA Finance programme, which was developed by HSE for Sberbank, has been appointed Acting Governor of the Lipetsk Region.

The project ‘Hydromatter’ by Anna Budnikova and Galina Vasilchenko, second-year students of the Master's programme ‘Prototyping future cities’, took the third place in the nomination ‘Best project in eco-innovation’ at the open contest ‘Leaders of climate development. The HSE Art Gallery is the first of its kind among Russian universities. The gallery is expected to become a space for established contemporary artists and students to work together and share their experiences with one another. They will be able to not only present their works at the gallery, but also participate in the creation of exhibitions.

Perhaps, in the not-so-distant future, people will be living in skyscrapers made of wood and concrete with a farm on the first floor and solar panels on the roof. Such a model of a future residential block was presented by the students of the master's programme ‘Prototyping Future Cities’. To create the model, they studied houses in Moscow that have been built over the past hundred years and analyzed international experience. Their model was presented at the Moscow Urban Forum in July and, on September 13 (HSE Day), it will be possible to see it again at Gorky Park.

The world is digitising. This is not a simple process for the media, as ‘ordinary’ reality and digital reality are two different worlds, themselves separate from a magazine. Trifon Bebutov, Esquire Russia’s Digital Editorial Director and a graduate of HSE’s continuing education programme in graphic design, met with Success Builder to talk about what responsibilities his job entails, what exactly ‘paper aesthetics’ means, and how bad packaging can kill amazing content.
